About the webinar
Join our practical webinar on using Paul Beverley’s CitationAlyse macro, a powerful tool designed to help editors efficiently manage and check citations in Microsoft Word. In this session, Jax will demonstrate how CitationAlyse can quickly identify in-text citations, match them against reference lists, and highlight potential inconsistencies or missing entries, saving valuable time during the editing and proofreading process. Participants will learn how to install and run the macro, interpret the generated citation tables, and use the output to ensure that every in-text citation corresponds accurately with the bibliography or reference list. The webinar will also show how the macro helps detect duplicate references and uncited sources making it an essential tool for editors working with theses, dissertations, journal articles, and research reports. By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of how CitationAlyse improves accuracy, efficiency and quality control in reference checking, and how it can become a reliable part of any professional editor’s toolkit when working with citation-dependent academic or research documents.
About our facilitator
Jax Baumgardt has a PhD in Education Management from UNISA and a Certificate in Copyediting from UCT. Formerly a teacher of English and an academic manager of a professional body, she has years of experience in editing academic assignments, proposals, theses and dissertations, more especially in the fields of business and education. She is a Full Member of PEG.
