This session on defamation will give editors the practical know-how to spot legal red flags before they sneak into a manuscript. We’ll learn the basics of libel in South African civil law and how to help authors avoid legal pitfalls. The session will be presented by PEG member Ashwini Singh, who is an ad hoc lecturer at UKZN’s School of Law and an examiner at Milpark Education’s School of Commerce.
