About our facilitator
Renee Moodie runs a writing, editing and training consultancy called Safe Hands. She worked as a
reporter on the Cape Times before moving into sub-editing at the Cape Argus. She then moved to online
journalism in the very early days at Independent Online (IOL). In her years at IOL, she did it all: editing stories
at speed, running the front page, working on various entertainment and lifestyle channels, live blogging, finding
free pictures, setting up social media channels, learning technical skills, being deputy editor… the list goes on.
She never did figure out what happened to all the milk in the fridge though.
About the webinar
Using the free version of the programme, Renee will demonstrate:
- how to customise colours, and add your own images
- how to save files and make folders and organise your work
- how to find pictures and graphics, using that menu down the left-hand side
- how to make a simple social media post
- if there’s time (and for fun) how use AI to generate an image.
The aim is to take it slow and allow time for questions, so the list of things to be covered is deliberately short!
