PEG has a number of membership categories.
- Accredited Text Editors (ATEs)
- Associate members
- Full members
- Student members
First-time members are automatically given Associate membership (if they are not students) or Student membership (which needs proof of registration as a student with an institution). Associate members can improve their status by meeting specific criteria for Full membership or by passing the Accreditation Test to become Accredited Text Editors (ATEs). Click here to find out more about ATEs or here to find out more about PEG’s Accreditation Scheme.
PEG encourages all members to commit to continuing professional development in order to maintain high standards of editing practice and professionalism. Although they don’t have to improve their membership status, from March 2024, all members will be required to maintain 20 hours of continuing professional development activities.
