About the editor

About me

Work experience

I have been surrounded by books (and immersed in words) my whole life - first when I was growing up in a seriously academic family and later when I qualified as a librarian. I've always been drawn to, and pedantic about, well-crafted language, which makes the editing world a natural home for me. The great thing about editing is that it offers opportunities for continuous learning. I also enjoy interacting with clients and helping them put their message across - be it a short story, a personal memoir, an academic article or some other form of communication.
Writing effectively allows you to get noticed, to get the job, to get the business, to get ahead. Let me be a partner to you in this process.

I focus mainly on proofreading/editing texts at the secondary education (school) and tertiary education (college/university) level, covering a broad range of topics. However, I'm also comfortable working with fiction and business texts. From time to time I am asked to do additional research for clients and to comment on the content and/or structure of the materials I am given to work with to enhance understanding among readers.

In my free time, I enjoy writing the odd bit of poetry and I am also writing a book about facing up to the challenges (particularly on the health front) that life invariably throws us.
